Overview

We are looking for a motivated Staff Accountant to join our team in our corporate headquarters. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the Company’s fixed assets relating to asset transfers and disposals.  This position interacts with our field locations as well as management. This position also performs General Ledger (GL) account analysis and prepares management reports relating to the identification and disposal of company assets

Responsibilities

  • Process asset retirements and transfers using the SAP system which includes ensuring that all required asset disposal documents are completed in accordance with company policies
  • Reconcile asset disposal GL account including the research and resolution of any outstanding items
  • Provide asset information to Suburban Customer Service Centers to assist with the sales and disposals of company assets
  • Maintain surplus vehicle schedules including the recording of necessary fair market value adjustments
  • Reconcile the vehicle fixed asset sub-ledger to fleet department records
  • Prepare monthly GL account reconciliations
  • Assist in preparation of fixed asset schedules for senior management
  • Assist in ad-hoc projects

 

$52,242 - $65,000 per year (dependent on experience)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience (Fixed asset experience preferred)
  • Must have knowledge of accounting software, preferably SAP
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Applications (Intermediate Excel skills preferred)
  • Knowledge of GAAP in relation to Fixed Assets and Capital Expenditures preferred
