Overview

Suburban Propane is a part of a dynamic company that has been serving its employees and customers for over 95 years. We have an excellent opportunity for a Region Service and Asset Manager to support our VA, NC, SC, GA and Eastern TN markets.

 

As a Region Service and Asset Manager, you will lead and execute the daily operational activities within your market. This includes supporting the Region’s leadership team and local Customer Service Center (CSC) Managers in achieving growth and financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation of key initiatives that improve safety, employee development, growth, operational efficiency, and controllable profit
  • Drive Service Department enhancement/growth plans within the Region to include: the rollout and full implementation of service tablet software, developing new service revenue P&L items and process, identifying service “cross selling” and “up selling” opportunities, while also enhancing the Service Contract business line
  • Take a leadership role within the Region as it relates to: practical/technical training for existing Service Technicians and working with management and Regional Technical Trainers to recruit and develop new Service Technicians
  • Work with Region Operations Manager to strategically place Service Technician support and vehicles in the Region to ensure that all locations are supported with the appropriate level of technically proficient service
  • Provide Operational Asset Management including strategic tank, cylinder and fleet placement and compliance support and regionalize the care and maintenance of all other assets to include temporary heating equipment, heaters and hoses, vaporizers, barriers, and water softeners (where applicable)
  • Take a primary role in the development of local and regional tank refurbishment programs, to include a Department of Transportation (DOT) cylinder recertification plan
  • Develop and evaluate all third-party service provider relationships for maximum benefit to the company

This position requires frequent daily and overnight travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or a related field and/or 5+ years’ related management experience
  • Must understand the elements of running a profitable, growth-orientated service business
  • Prior experience in the propane industry and/or familiarity with fuel industry concepts, practices and procedures is preferred
